My name is Tyann Crawford and I was born and raised in Taylor, Michigan. I am married to Matt Crawford and we have 3 amazing kids – Andrew, Allison and Aemilia. Matt invited me to Kirby, while dating in high school, more than 20 years ago. We were relocated last summer to Houston, but Kirby is still, and will forever be our home.
I have always felt led to serve my community by volunteering and helping others. I realized I did not know the true meaning of servanthood until I started serving with my church and some amazing people who taught me to serve only in a way that gives all the glory to God!
I decided to focus my career on helping others and graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor’s in Social Work. During my career, I had the opportunity to work with several communities and schools through health education, juvenile offender, and various prevention programs.
After our first baby, we decided it was best for me to stay home and serve our family first. I continue to have a heart for serving and finding ways to include our children so they may learn to put Christ first and others before themselves.
Some of my Relentless Detroit responsibilities include coordinating the set up and maintenance of lifter donation pages, helping to create print and promotional materials, organizing volunteers, and assisting the treasurer with tracking and managing donations.
My philosophy is basically the same as the other board members – just do what needs to be done. I have been with Relentless Detroit since the beginning and am grateful to have a small part in this remarkable ministry.
