Austin Valentine was the son of James and Gabriela Valentine and brother of Chandler Valentine.
He was loving, energetic, and of course extremely tough!
He was a normal boy who loved to play football, run, play and spend time with his family and friends.
One week before his ninth birthday he began to have extreme headaches.
He was taken to the emergency room in August 2012 and was soon after diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme, a very aggressive and rare cancer in children.
Doctors were not able to stop the cancer from spreading. It spread into Austin’s cerebrospinal fluid and began to affect his spine limiting his mobility.
It wasn’t long before he was wheelchair-bound. Despite this however, Austin always remained tough and positive and full of love for God, his family and everyone around him.
Relentless Detroit heard about Austin and the many challenges he was facing. They stepped in and created an amazing event to support Austin and our family through this extremely difficult time.
Austin was the original Relentless Kid and we are very thankful to have been blessed by Relentless Detroit coming into our lives.
They showed Austin and our family an amazing amount of love and support in so many different ways. We will forever be grateful for this.
God gave us nine months with Austin before he took him home and it was a true blessing to be able to have that time with him.
Austin touched so many lives that I couldn’t possibly count and even changed a few. On May 16, 2013, we said goodbye to our sweet baby boy and our lives will never be the same.
I know he is watching over all of us and doing great things in Heaven.
We love and miss you so much, Austin and we can’t wait until the day we can hold you again.

Thank you for your love and support
